The 4th of July in St. Louis is usually an indoors holiday, but not this year....amazing weather allowed us to spend lots of time outside.
| Started the morning "working" on the back patio. (Note the green grass coming in the back yard!!) |
After breakfast, we headed downtown to the VP Parade. Grabbed an open spot at the end of the parade and was able to avoid big crowds. The girls were pretty excited, so no meltdowns, which makes for an enjoyable outing.
| Lawnchair, check. Flags, check. |
| "Eating" candy thrown from the floats....God forbid she stick the whole sucker in her mouth! |
| Family selfie. |
| Happy as usual and showing off her 2 teeth. |
| Bigfoot - seriously, this truck has been around since I was a kid! |
| "Picnic" after the parade. |
After the parade, we headed home for naps, then planned on a BBQ at our house with Meemaw and Nanny. Plans took an abrupt change when we lost electricity at our house! Nothing like packing up the BBQ and inviting ourselves over to Meemaw's. She didn't mind and it was nice to eat in cool A/C with the lights on!
| A little hair-pulling after dinner. |
After dinner, the Winter Crew, Meemaw and Nanny went to check out fireworks. We opted for a location that allowed us quick access in and out, as well as a perfect view.....Walmart. Yep, we took our lawnchairs and a blanket to the Walmart parking lot and had a great time!
| Glow masks were a hit! |
| Perfect view of the fireworks...nevermind the parking lot light lighting up the parking lot. |
| Aunt Lisa and a sleepy, sweet Alice. |
| The kiddos. |
