The Great Wall of Ballwin

Our backyard faces the side yard of our neighbor.  The neighbor has a railroad tie wall (behind our picket fence) that is falling and the City of Ballwin has failed the wall and advised he remove and replace with a cement/paver stone wall.  After the new wall is installed, our neighbor is taking our picket fence and putting it on top of the cement wall, for privacy and because he needs a fence due to his pool.  As you can imagine, this is quite a large project....which means plenty of distraction time for Marie.  Ok, I can't lie, I am fascinated as well.  It truly is amazing to see how they drive around and are not afraid of falling into our yard!  Marie thinks bulldozers are now called "choo-choos" and she insists on waving to the workers each morning....and by morning, I'd like to add they start promptly at 7am.  We look forward to getting back to our 8:30am wake up calls. We were told the project will last a couple of weeks...here is the progress so far.  More pics to come!

Our back yard....pre-demolition.

Trees are gone!  One of many dump trucks hauling everything away.

Bulldozers (AKA: "choo-choos") working hard and one of many dumpsters.

Delivery of the paver stones...9 huge pallets.

Fascinating if you're 18 months....or 36 yrs old.
